Introduction

• The Japan Technical Jamboree is a forum-wide technical meeting of the CE Linux Forum. This meeting will be located conveniently in Japan and use Japanese as the native language of the event.
• Attendance is not limited to the CELF members, but is open to all. Everyone who is interested in embedded Linux technologies is welcomed. There is no admission fee.
• A general guidance page is available. Japan Technical Jamboree Guidance (Japanese/English)

• CELFテストラボの紹介とデモンストレーションを予定しています。 / An introduction and demonstration of CE Linux Forum test laboratory is planned.

  • カーネルサイズの計測、どのモジュールがどれくらいの割合を占めているかなどを調べるツール（Bloatwatch、Matt Macal氏作）のデモンストレーションも含まれます。サンノゼにあるテストラボの環境に中野サンプラザからアクセスしてテストをする様子を見ていただける予定です。

• このテストラボを構築するのにOpen Embeddedを利用しました。その経験をMatt Locke氏（CELF専属エンジニア）に来日して語って貰います。

General Session

組込み機器におけるセキュア OS 導入評価 / Introducing Secure OS into embedded system - Keijiro Yano (Toshiba)

• Linux のセキュリティ機能を強化する SE Linux および LIDS を、MIPS アーキテクチャを採用した評価システム上で動作させ、導入要件、セキュリティ機能、メモリ使用量、起動時間について評価を行いました。今回は、その評価結果についてお話しをさせて頂く予定です。
• Mr. Yano has installed SE Linux and LIDS on evaluation system with MIPS architecture, and evaluated installation requirements, security functions, memory usage and boot up time. He will report the results.

JFFS2へのXATTR実装とSELinux / Migration of XATTR on JFFS2 and SELinux

• XATTR（eXtended ATTRibute）はSELinuxを実行するために必要とされるファイル属性ですが、JFFS2はこれに対応していませんでした。海外さんはこの開発を行い、2.6.18でmainstreamにマージされました。
• Mr. Kaigai has implemented the XATTR into JFFS2 which is an inportant attribute to run SELinux.

DirectFB 1.00 RC1 レビュー / Qucik review for DirectFB 1.00 RC1 release

• 最近 DirectFB 開発プロジェクトからリリースされたバージョン 1.00 RC1 には日本の地デジ規格に対応するための幾つかの仕様拡張が盛り込まれました。 この中にはルネサスから提案した仕様も含まれているので、これまでの提案検討の経緯を簡単に紹介します
• DirectFB project released ver 1.00 RC1 lately, with some new API extention to support ARIB(ISDB-T) requirement. I wouldlike to introduce how Renesas collaborated with DirectFB project to implement these features.

ET 2006

• 今年もCE Linux Forum はET 2006に参加し、ブース設営及びカンファレンスプログラムの中でプレゼンテーションを行います。是非お立ち寄りください。会期は11月15日（火）から18日（金）まで、会場はパシフィコ横浜です。

  • "ET" (Embedded Technology) is one of major exhibition and conference of embedded system technology which is held in November, Yokohama (Greater Tokyo).
  • CELF Booth and the public presentation will be there,
• ブースでは技術プレゼンテーションを行う予定です。いわばジャンボリーの出前。これによりより多くの人がこのオープンソース開発コミュニティーへ参加するきっかけになることを目論みます。今年、初夏に行われたESEC 2006では狭いながらブースプレゼンテーションを敢行し、多くの方が足をとめてくれました。質疑応答も盛んでした。ETでは少し広めのスペースを確保、本格的に実施します。

• カンファレンスプログラムの中でのプレゼンテーションではフォーラム活動がもたらした技術成果のみならず組込み技術開発に於けるオープンソースの意義、可能性に関してもアピールする予定です。上司の方などにこの活動をよりよく理解していただくきっかけになるように計らいます。
