File:ECE597SumoRobotPanels.svg
A drawing of the panels that combine to form the sumo robot's chassis. This drawing was converted to DXF format and a water cutter used to cut the panels from aluminum scrap. Note that some minor changes were made to the positioning of the motor mounts in the water cutter's proprietary software --- the holes are slightly misaligned and all are slightly (~1/16") too close to the front/rear of the robot.
To secure the corners, 1/8 inch aluminum bar was drilled and tapped for 4-40 screws. 1/4 inch aluminum angle was used to secure the top and bottom panels to the side panels (again with 4-40 screws), though more bar would have been superior. The electronics were secured to the top with standard standoffs.
