Descriptions
The BeagleBone XBee Cape allows an XBee radio module from Digi to be connected to the BeagleBone and BeagleBone Black. The connections is via /dev/ttyO2. Software Support
- BeagleBone XBee Cape revision A0 is supported by all official version of Debian, Ubuntu 12.04 and higher, and all versions of The Deck Linux.
Getting Started
Required setup:
- A BeagleBone XBee Cape
- A BeagleBone (with supported software)
- A 5V DC power supply (we recommend 5V - 2A)
- An XBee Module (optional)
Following the instructions below to start using your BeagleBone XBee Cape:
- Mount the XBee Cape to the BeagleBone.
- If your chosen Linux distro doesn't include the MeshDeck download it from http://facstaff.bloomu.edu/ppolstra.
- Either install the MeshDeck or copy the .dtbo file to your /lib/firmware directory.
- If you didn't install the MeshDeck you may need to execute the command "echo XBeeFullCape0001 > /sys/devices/bone_capemgr.9/slots" as root to create the /dev/ttyO2 device.
