*'''Webinar''': Get Started with MIPI-CSI Cameras for Embedded Computer Vision - October 16, 2020  [[https://www.toradex.com/webinars/mipi-csi-camera-for-embedded-computer-vision Register here]]!
 +
**Progress in Computer Vision algorithms such as Deep Learning and ever more performant small embedded systems enable many new use cases. Cameras can now be tightly integrated into an embedded system, as interfaces such as Ethernet and USB are too bulky and add a layer of complexity. The most direct way to connect a modern Camera Sensor is via the MIPI CSI-2. In this webinar, we will show you how the collaboration between e-con Systems and Toradex simplifies the integration of cameras in your products considering both, hardware and software. We will show you the out-of-the-box experience to your first simple OpenCV program and will give you tips and tricks along the way. Additionally, we will explain the most important features to be kept in mind when selecting a camera. We will utilize the latest i.MX 8QuadMax and i.MX 8M Mini applications processors from NXP® on Toradex’s Apalis and Verdin System on Modules(SoMs). On the software side, we will use Torizon and open-source embedded Linux with a focus on the ease-of-use.

**EtherCAT is a high-performance, low-cost, easy to use Industrial Ethernet technology with a flexible topology. The only hardware required by the master device is the on-board Ethernet controller. That means that with just a standard Ethernet port, a master device can implement a hard real-time network solution. The Ethernet controller is integrated via Direct Memory Access (DMA), so no CPU capacity is required for the data transfer between the master device and the network. The EC-Master protocol stack is sophisticated, high-performance EtherCAT master software out-of-the-box available on many NXP® i.MX based Toradex SoM boards.

**The graphical user interface (GUI) is an important element for any application but it is especially vital when the device, and it’s proper or improper use, impacts human life. When every second counts, having an intuitive user experience that reduces human error and streamlines device use is as important as ensuring safety and security. How can developer’s best manage these requirements while still meeting the accelerating demands for new features? Join us for this one-hour webinar to learn best practices for user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI) design and how to build a safe and secure device, from the operating system on up.

**Learn how Altium and Toradex enable customized embedded computing solutions without the need to draw schematics and layout boards. You will be introduced to Geppetto, a web-based design tool, which lets you create a carrier board for Toradex System on Modules. You choose the module, and draw the outline and drag the interfaces from an extensive portfolio of interfaces and peripherals. Geppetto also simplifies the creation of a Linux image supporting your custom board out-of-the-box. This includes Torizon, the easy-to-use industrial Linux Platform. Prototypes will be available in 7-20 days. In the webinar, we step you through the creation of a custom board featuring a Verdin System on Module with NXP i.MX 8M Mini applications processor.
