Here is a page of stuff to do on this wiki.

The eLinux Wiki has several different areas. It has gotten out of date in some places. There are some projects that were started, but then not continued.

If you would like to volunteer to work on one of the projects mentioned below, please contact tim (dot) bird (at) sony (dot) com.

Content Refresh

Some sections of the site have stale information that should be updated or removed.

This project would consist of people volunteering to look at the portals listed on the front page, and doing a sweep over the content to see if information is out-of-date or not. While it would probably help if you are a subject-matter expert, you don't have to be. You just have to recognize old content, and maybe research to see if the material still seems relevant.

Here is the list of top-page portals.

  • Boot Time
  • Memory Management
  • Security
  • Events
  • Multimedia
  • Power Management
  • System Size
  • Hardware Hacking
  • File Systems
  • Real Time
  • Resource Management
  • Development Platforms
  • Networking
  • Developer Guidelines
  • Legal Issues
  • Toolbox
  • Android Portal
  • Debugging Portal
  • Testing
  • Glossary
  • Device drivers
  • Kernel Mainlining
  • Device Tree

Update Video Categorization Project

In 2018, developers at PathPartners Technology created a categorized index of presentations from previous ELC events (13 years worth). It can be found here: ELC_Presentations#Index_to_Categorized_Presentations

Since then, we've had a few ELC events, and the entries for the presentations from those events have not been added to this categorized index. The presentations for which we have slides and videos are listed on each event's presentation's page, but it would be nice to continue to sort these presentations into their respective categories, so they are easier to find.

If you are interested in helping with this task, please let me know.

Brainstorm new ideas to revitalize the wiki

I'll be holding a zoom call in October 2022, to discuss revitalizing the eLinux wiki. I'll announce the project on the celinux-dev mailing list (and maybe on the linux-embedded kernel mailing list).

If you are interested in helping with this project, please join that zoom call. Details for the call will be put here before the call. If you don't want to subscribe to either of those lists to get the notification, send me (Tim Bird) an e-mail at my e-mail address listed above.
