*That's ok, glad you're enjoying using the wiki. The page title was just following a convention (RPi_Name_Of_Page), and unfortunately doesn't create a subtopic. The Raspberry Pi pages are linked by a category tag, <nowiki>[[Category:RaspberryPi]]</nowiki>, which is included in the code of <nowiki>{{Template:Raspberry Pi}}</nowiki>. Page titles are both case sensitive and space sensitive, so following a convention makes it less likely that other users will create duplicate pages with ever-so-slightly different names. Creating a conventionally-named page and redirecting from it to the actual page does the trick, so there's no need to move the page. - [[User:Tufty | Tufty]] 18:30 03/02/2012 (UTC)

Hi, Thanks for the message.  I'll try and take a look and see if there is anything I can do to help out. Quick question which comes to me me straight away, who are elinux.org? Do you know what the rational was with having the RasPi wiki as part of theirs and not it's own entity? I'm just feeling at the moment that RasPi is going to be a bigger subject than Linux, if that makes sense? --[[User:AdRiley|AdRiley]] 20:28, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

*Hi, sounds like a plan. I'm not responsible for adding that particular piece of information - I transferred that page to a new one with a more sensible name. There's a few mentions on the Raspberry Pi Foundation Forum about 115200, might provide some clues - [[User:Tufty|Tufty]] 17:00 01/02/2012 (UTC)

Yes i found some comments from gert about 115K so hopefully that is gospel! Will update when i have something concrete

* Thanks for coming over. elinux.org are an existing wiki documenting the usage of Linux on embedded systems, and according to the Raspberry Pi Foundation this generously agreed to host the RPi wiki. I imagine it would be possible to export it at a later date, and I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who would volunteer server space. • The link you added to the MGS computing society did not contain a URL, so it pointed to a (non-existent) wiki page. I've created a page for it to point to - please have a look and either link to a URL like this: [http://www.google.co.uk| Google] (this produces: Google) or add some content to the new wiki page. Thanks. - Tufty
  • Tufty - too hot off the mark! I was in the process of creating the page when you changed the link. The page is here: http://elinux.org/MGS_Computing_Society_page. I'm feeling befuddled and ill - please could I prevail upon you to put it back the way it was and delete the page you made? Many Thanks. Simon*
  • Ok, I've changed the link, added a link back to the Education page from your page, and put in a redirect from the superfluous page I made. - Tufty 10:08 02/02/2012 (UTC)
  • Many thanks for your help and enthusiasm (especially as I'm under the weather right now - I currently have a viral rash that ironically makes me look a bit like a raspberry). I'm afraid that up until now the whole Wiki thing had passed me by. I thought the self generating index from the section titles was particularly cool (and unexpected). I was wondering whether your page title did anything funky to the structure (like make it a subtopic of RPi). Would I be better copying my content onto your page? - Huntsi
  • That's ok, glad you're enjoying using the wiki. The page title was just following a convention (RPi_Name_Of_Page), and unfortunately doesn't create a subtopic. The Raspberry Pi pages are linked by a category tag, [[Category:RaspberryPi]], which is included in the code of {{Template:Raspberry Pi}}. Page titles are both case sensitive and space sensitive, so following a convention makes it less likely that other users will create duplicate pages with ever-so-slightly different names. Creating a conventionally-named page and redirecting from it to the actual page does the trick, so there's no need to move the page. - Tufty 18:30 03/02/2012 (UTC)

I have purchased 2 of these from amazon [[1]] Which apparently have turned up today. I have a twofold reason as I am debugging a problem with a synology box at the same time. • Hi, just to let you know that there's a big overlap between the RPi_Buying_Guide and RPi_Hardware_Basic_Setup. I'm merging your work from the Buying Guide into the Hardware page - please could you make further changes on the Hardware list. Thanks - Tufty
  • Sorry to be abrupt there - thanks for contributing to the wiki! I see you've noticed my message, so I'll leave you to add the SD card details to the Hardware page - Tufty

I have no idea how to send you a PM on this wiki. Apologies for putting text in the wrong place, but this wiki is all over the place. My knuckles have been rapped, and I have moved to the correct page. bredman.

  • I know what you mean - I've been working seriously hard just to get it to this state. I've got rid of four whole pages so far, and created that links template at the bottom of every page, and still it's a mess. Hence my running in and stopping you - how else would you find the right place to edit? - Tufty

Lucky you were watching when I started to edit. Keep up the guard.

I was thinking of adding images for all of the connectors. What do you think? A lot of people do not know what a micro-USB looks like.

  • Images of the connectors sounds like a very good idea - Tufty

Images are added for the connectors. I am out of here, this took longer than I planned.
